The beauty of the Thesis Framework is that while Pearsonified gets to while the wee hours away pumping out killer new features and squashing any bugs under the hood, we developers get to spend our time focusing on producing the very best look and experience for our clients. Sure, there’s some pretty clever hackery we’ve pulled off with Thesis, and the hooks function certainly allows you to get your hands dirty where necessary, but the more we work with Thesis the more we’ve found ourselves focusing on what we love: design.
So we figured over the next few months here at DIYninjas we’d point out some of favourite resources for those of you looking to design on Thesis. We’ll take you through all of the resources we make use of, both inside and outside the Thesis community. First up though we’re going to take a look at one of the big up and comers: the Thesis CSS Gallery.
Now we’ll be the first to say that the Thesis CSS Gallery might not be the prettiest girl in the class, but man is she worth a look. You see, the Thesis CSS Gallery is all about showcasing just how flexible Thesis really is, highlighting some of the sweetest customizations on the air right now.
The Thesis CSS Gallery
Oh the Things You’ll Learn
We’ve already talked at length about all the different ways you can rock Thesis, but there’s few illustrations out there better than the Thesis CSS Gallery as to just how far you can take things. Most of the sites online at present are running the blog format, but with already 4 pages of stellar custom Thesis sites, the gallery serves as an invaluable source for inspiration.
Even better though, with the killer new features in Thesis 1.4 and a growing realization amongst the Thesis user base of just how much of the web is fully Thesifiable, the Gallery is quickly proving to be a great spot for those of you on the fence as to whether or not your ready to make the jump to Thesis. Trust me, head on over to the Thesis CSS Gallery and take a look already at the crazy stuff people are pulling with Thesis, you’ll be amazed – and then you’ll be straight over to DIYthemes to join the fray.
Can I Tell You a Secret?*
We had a quick chat to the guys at the Thesis CSS Gallery before writing this review to find out what they’ve got around the corner and it looks like they’ve got some sweet new features only days away. What we’re most excited about is the changes the’re planning for the ranking system. Any day now they’ll be rolling out the ability to sort results according to rank, date, number of votes etc. which will make the Thesis CSS Gallery even more in tune for your viewing pleasure. Sweet. A little tip for now though, if you head on over and submit your site right away, you’ll go straight to the front page as everything is locked into chronological order. So that’s got to be great way to raise the profile of your Thesis site – and it won’t cost you a cent!
* Generous we told you first, eh? So once you’ve submitted your site to the Thesis CSS Gallery why not chuck us a vote!
